   Old Buzzard Patrol

You have reached the ~Old Buzzard Patrol~ this is the adult patrol, we follow the same rules as set for the boys.  We prescribe to the Scout Oath and Scout Law, we operate as a patrol, we have a patrol leader, we have a quarter-master, we have grub-master,  generally the "Patrol Leader" changes at each camping trip to pass this responsibility around.

The ~Old Buzzard Patrol~ is a special "patrol" for uniformed adult leaders and parents who go on troop campouts.

Before you read any further click here and read about What Adults do when Camping

~Old Buzzard Patrol~ is organized for several reasons:

  • To set an example of camping and cooking that the Scout patrols could see and follow (we can tell them a thousand times, but seeing an example and deciding to follow it themselves works better)

  • To give inexperienced parents a place to eat and camp, to better learn the patrol method,  good food, camaraderie (of course), but more important we are providing an example the boys in their patrols can follow without our telling them what to do (we teach by example). Since a patrol should camp as a group, we expect the Adults to do so also; that way, adults don't tent in or right next to a boy patrol where your mere presence could disrupt the learning process.

Our adult patrol has great times together, sharing ideas, watching the scouts, working together to better tweak "THE PROGRAM".  The camaraderie is great, and we look forward to your participation no matter your level of commitment you are able to do.
